Frequently Asked Questions
Here I have tried to answer some of the most frequently asked questions I receive. If I have not addressed you question then please do feel free to get in touch. Click here.
Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: You can make an appointment by clicking here, calling or texting me on 07885 447171 or by sending me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. When contacting me please do give me as much information you can regarding your dog. (e.g. age, sex, breed or mixes of breeds, coat length, temperament etc.)
Q: Do I need to supply or prepare anything for the groom?
A: All I need is for you to please ensure that your dog has been to the toilet before you arrive, if possible.
Q: Does it matter if I am a few minutes late?
A: Sadly yes it does, I offer a 1:1 service and promise no overlap and therefore if the previous dog has not been collected on time then you may have to wait a few minutes before leaving your dog with me. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment it is likely that you will need to rebook for another time.
Q: Are you insured?
Q: Are you trained/qualified?
A: YES! I am a City & Guilds Qualified Dog Groomer.
Q: Will my dog be safe?
A: Yes, the studio is fully enclosed, there will be no other dogs present and I am a qualified dog first-aider.
Q: Can I stay with my Dog?
A: Sadly not. My insurance does not cover anyone other than the named policy holder to be present. Only in extreme cases will I need an owner’s assistance – this is covered in my insurance.
Q: How long does a groom take?
A: It depends on the type of coat and size of dog but please allow 1 – 2 hours for a full groom on an adult dog and between ½ – 1 hour for a puppy. Show clips or dogs that are severely matted may take longer.
Q: Do you do show clips?
A: Yes. I normally groom pet dogs, but do ask if you require a show cut on your dog and we will discuss the options available to you. Show clips do take longer and prices may be more depending on cut.
Q: How often should my dog be groomed?
A: It all depends on the coat type. Most breeds with long or curly coats will need trimming at least every 6-8 weeks.
Q: Do you groom more than one dog at a time?
A: No. My service is strictly one-to-one making it much more stress-free for every dog. The only exception to that rule is when grooming dogs from the same family that are happy to be together as long as you, the owner, is happy for that to happen.
Q: What shampoo and grooming products do you use?
A: I use the best products, ecologically friendly shampoo’s on the market. If you want the best results, you have to use the best products! I will only use the best quality professional canine shampoos. All of my equipment is designed for professional use, and is cleaned and maintained to the highest standard. If your dog has a skin condition and needs prescription shampoo, please provide this for me to use. Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions
